Dr. Sean Strain was born and raised in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. He graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002 located in St.Kitts WI, B.V.I. He then went on and performed an intense 1 year internship at Merritt and Associates Equine Hospital in Chicago, IL. From there he went to Annabessacook Veterinary Clinic in Monmouth, ME for 3 years. Equine lameness, surgery , medicine and dentistry are his major interests. He brings to the area a vast knowledge in equine lameness diagnoses and treatments. He is a member of the AAEP, AVMA, KVMA and MVMA.
Dr. Sean Strain and his wife Kelly, got married in Antigua in January 2007. They moved into a house and 10 acres in Bonner Springs , KS in April 2007. They have a black lab x named Belle, a jack russel x named Sydney a Palamino Filly named Barbie, 5 cats and 15 chickens.
Dr. Strain thoroughly enjoys continuing his education, as well as sharing that knowledge with his clients so that they can be better horse owners.
Strain Equine Services, LLC is the official veterinarian of the Kansas City Mounted Patrol.
Laura Hellman was raised inSouthern Pines, NC. Growing up, she was very active with the local fox hunt andpony club. She also competed in 3-Day Eventing and Polocrosse. She attended North Carolina State University both as an undergraduate and during veterinary school. After graduation she completed a one year internship at Equine Sports Medicine and Surgery in Weatherford, TX, then worked in a three doctor ambulatory practice in Alabama. Laura has a special interest in sports medicine and lameness. When not working, she can be found riding her 2 horses or spending time with her husband, Michael, and their 3 dogs. She started working for Strain Equine Services July, 2010.
