Interleukin-1 Antagonist Protein = IRAP


 

IRAP stands for Interleukin-1-Receptor Antagonist Protein. IRAP blocks the IL-1 receptors, thereby protecting cartilage surfaces and decreasing inflammation. Studies so far have shown significant decreases in lameness. IRAP is one of the best treatment regimes for degenerative joint disease (Arthritis) in the horse.
